A behind-the-scenes look at our signature ID ring in the making! Pictured here in Kibera, Kenya is the beginning stages of our ID ring, which has just been cut from a sheet of upcycled brass, and is headed onto polishing.
This piece and every piece we make is intricately handcrafted by incredibly talented artisans in Kenya, who utilize centuries-old techniques. When you shop PHOEBE, your purchase supports artisan entrepreneurs in Kenya through access to gainful employment, fair wages, safe working environments, as well as education for at-risk youth.
We met blogger and fashionista, Rachel Joyce, at a pop-up shop this past Spring. She’s a badass writer, women’s advocate, and entrepreneur, so when she approached us about doing an interview for her digital magazine, ‘You Must Love Life‘, naturally, we were thrilled.
“When women come together, there’s no stopping us,” says Rachel. The launch of the YYML Fall/Winter issue is all about delving into what it means it be a multidimensional woman and celebrates women of all different shapes, sizes, and backgrounds.
“We’re complex and beautiful human beings with lots of interests. This issue is for all who want to forge the new path of what it means to be a woman today.”
